Literacy
GMS engages students in a variety of reading and writing opportunities. Our language arts teachers offer a workshop environment that provides context for building connections between reading and writing. Our goal is to raise the achievement level of all students by identifying each child’s strengths and weaknesses to better address his/her academic needs. Guided by two literacy coaches and working in literacy teams, GMS teachers provide lessons that meet Indiana State Standards.
